Courses Summary
Our courses are:
- Zoom based: some sessions are recorded, however we provide information about what is planned for and covered in each lesson. Links to all online course resources are also made available.
- The medium of instruction is English.
- Online: All communication is via email and WhatsApp using internet links to course resources. Hence students must be capable of using these.
- Free of Cost: There is no course fee. Courses are delivered on a दिव्य भक्ति (Divya Bhakti) basis in accordance with the principles of the Vedic education system that knowledge is priceless and not a commodity to be traded or commercialised. Students may, however, make a voluntary contribution to Sanskrut Bhakti to cover their essential administration costs e.g. Zoom, Google Drive, Website etc. However, the IGCSE course have formal examinations which incur registration fees, the amount is dependent on the Examinations Centres.

Course – Description |
Sanskrit for Beginners The beginners course is aimed at creating interest to learn Sanskrit towards reading simple stories and to write small paragraphs on their own. |
IGCSE Sanskrit An intensive 1 year course following the Cambridge Syllabus and uses the ISER (Sanskrit@StJames) Resources. Students must be familiar with Devanagari script and must have a basic or beginner’s level of Sanskrit knowledge. The main focus will be on preparing students to take the Cambridge IGCSE Sanskrit exams. |
Higher Level A follow on 1 year course from the IGCSE Sanskrit course, developing the Sanskrit grammar knowledge further through study of Sanskrit Literature. Students must have passed the Cambridge IGCSE Sanskrit exam or are awaiting their Cambridge IGCSE Sanskrit exam results. |
Study of Viveka Chudamani This is a new pilot course being introduced in 2025 involving the study of Adi Shankaracharya’s philosophical treatise known as Viveka Chudamani (crest-jewel of discernment or discrimination. |
Sanskrit and Scriptures A progression course developing on Sanskrit grammar and knowledge through the study of Sanskrit Scriptures. Students must have attended the IGCSE Sanskrit Course or have an equivalent knowledge. |
Sanskrit for Children Beginners, Foundation and Intermediate Level Courses to introduce Sanskrit to children (aged 5 to 16 years). No prior knowledge of Sanskrit or Devanagari script required. Classes will be split by age and capability. |
