A progression adults course developing on Sanskrit grammar and knowledge through the study of Sanskrit scriptures.
Course Entry Prerequisites
Students must have attended the IGCSE Sanskrit Course or have an equivalent knowledge.
Duration and Timings
- Ongoing
- Mondays 8-9pm (UK, Zoom-based)
Course Content
- General study of various Sanskrit scriptures, stotras, shlokas e.g., Upanishads, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana etc.
- There will be a focus on learning the underlying grammar of Sanskrit
- Practice of translation from Sanskrit to English
Course Outcomes
Students will be equipped with the advanced tools to continue their further learning, including studying and understanding the original Sanskrit scriptures.
Course Requirements
These classes are very interactive. Students will need to be committed and ensure that they have the time to attend all classes, if possible, and do additional self-study and homework.
The medium of instruction is English.
All communication is via email and WhatsApp using Internet-links to course resources. Hence students must be capable of using these.
Course Costs
There is no Course Fee. All teaching and administration is on a purely voluntary basis. However, students may make a voluntary contribution to Sanskrut Bhakti to cover their essential administration costs e.g., Zoom, Google Drive etc. Details will be provided at the start of the course.
Online free course materials are used wherever possible.
Requirements for any additional books will be advised during the course.
