Higher Level 1
Summary Description
This course is delivered in partnership with Sanskrit@StJames. It leads to the Higher Level 1 Exam and the Certificate awarded by them. Sanskrut Bhakti recommends that students who enroll do take the Exam at the end of the course, however, it is optional.
Course Entry Prerequisites
Students must have taken and have passed the IGCSE exam with a good result, C or above. Students who have taken the exam and are awaiting results will be allowed to enrol but will require a good pass result in order to continue.
Duration and Timings
- One year duration. Starts from the second Wednesday of June
- 2 sessions per week (attendance required for both sessions)
- Wednesdays 8.00 – 9.00pm and Saturdays 10.30 – 11.30am (UK, Zoom-based)

Course Outcomes
All students will be encouraged to take the Exams at the end of the course, leading to a certificate from Sanskrit@StJames. Exam registration is likely to be in March, followed by exams in May.
Course Requirements
Please note that this is an intensive course. Students will need to be committed and ensure that they have the time to attend all classes, if possible, and there will be some requirement for self-study/homework.
We will use resources which will be made available on the ISER-website . Access to these materials will be via registration with Sanskrit@StJames. These materials are NOT to be shared with anyone else.
The medium of instruction is English.
All course communication related to Sanskrut Bhakti is via email and WhatsApp using Internet-links to course resources. Hence students must be capable of using these.
Course Costs
There is no Course Fee. All Sanskrut Bhakti teaching and administration is on a purely voluntary basis. Students may make a voluntary contribution to Sanskrut Bhakti to cover their essential administration costs e.g. Zoom, Google Drive etc. Details will be provided at the start of the course.
Students also need to register with Sanskrit@StJames to access the Higher Level private resource page, which includes course materials, updates, and relevant information at a cost of £50. More details will be provided at course induction.
There will also be a Sanskrit@StJames Exam Registration Fee for those entering for the exam at the end of the course to cover administration expenses. Any money paid which is not used for expenses goes towards the promotion of Sanskrit and sponsorship for young candidates..
