A follow on 1 year course from the IGCSE course, based on the Sanskrit@StJames syllabus, developing the Sanskrit grammar knowledge further through study of Sanskrit literature. Exams will be set by Sanskrit@StJames. Students must have passed the IGCSE exam or awaiting their 2024 exam results.

"Having successfully completed the IGCSE in middle of 2022, our batch was encouraged to embark on the pilot HL1 course set up by St James in collaboration with Sanskrut Bhakti. This was because the traditional AS/ A level Sanskrit exams set by the Cambridge Board was being discontinued. The syllabus taught in HL1 was akin to AS level. Credit goes to all the karyakars who worked behind the scenes to make this transition possible.
